definitely, insulate the walls, and the ceiling of the room that you made, as well as the “floor” in the unfinished part (too late to do it all). Depends on how you want the room to feel? If it is just for storage, should insulate under the “floor” of the room that you added.

For maximum efficiency you should combine installing more pink fiberglass insulation AND a attic radiant barrier. The fiberglass will reduce conductive heat flow and the radiant barrier will reduce radiant heat flow. Think of it this way: If you put a refrigerator in the shade (this is how a radiant barrier acts), then the refrigerator (or your home) is even MORE efficient and comfortable.

I need to know how to insulate my attic if I use it to store stuff and have a finished room up there too. Should I insulate the walls around the finished room and only insulate the floor in the unfinished part?
